KORE Child Accounts Created and Linked to Your Twilio Subaccounts - October 2024
The following advisory was sent to customers who use Twilio subaccounts to separate resources and usage across different end customers, locations, projects, or other reasons on October 10, 2024.
See Additional Details for further clarifications or details discovered after the advisory was originally sent.
You are receiving this message because you are a user of Super SIM or Programmable Wireless (collectively referred to as “IoT Products” below).
What do you need to know?
If you use Twilio subaccounts to manage your IoT Products, you can now manage your SIMs and related resources on these accounts through KORE. KORE calls its equivalent to Twilio’s subaccounts child accounts. We created a new KORE child account for each Twilio subaccount with IoT Product resources. Refer to our guide on managing multiple accounts for additional information. You can continue to create Twilio subaccounts to manage IoT Products through Twilio. When you transfer a SIM to a Twilio subaccount, we will create a corresponding KORE child account, if one does not already exist, and link the two accounts [α]. We intend to support this workflow through at least January 15, 2025. Afterwards, you need to create new child accounts using the KORE Console or APIs and manage the resources on those new child accounts through KORE. In the coming weeks, you will receive more updates, no later than November 28, about how to manage your child accounts going forward. If you have already integrated with the Twilio APIs and need to continue adding more Twilio subaccounts to manage IoT Products past January 15, 2025, please contact your account manager or KORE’s support team to discuss options.
What do you need to do?
Begin to familiarize yourself with how to move between your accounts and manage your SIMs and related resources in the KORE Console. Early in 2025, you will no longer be able to use the Twilio Console to manage these resources. We are in the process of revising certain timelines and will send out more details before the end of the month. If you use Super SIM Connection Events, you should have received previous notices about migrating to KORE’s streaming solution. You can now create destinations and streaming rules for your child accounts. This will allow you to complete your migration to KORE’s streaming solution, which must be completed by November 1, 2024. Refer to the migration guide for additional information. If you intend to validate the authenticity of requests sent to you from KORE, you can now create webhook secrets for each of your child accounts. This will allow you to be ready to receive all webhook requests from KORE, which must be completed by November 1, 2024. Refer to the migration guide for additional information. If you have any questions, please contact your account manager or KORE’s support team.
Additional Details
[α] - Due to a race condition between in the KORE child account creation process, you may experience a 5xx HTTP error the first time you try to move a SIM to a newly created Twilio account / KORE child account. Retry the request and the transfer request should complete successfully. You should not experience this issue when transferring additional SIMs to the same account.
